Beacons Ultra, Marathon and Half 2026
The event takes place on 7 November 2026 in Talybont On Usk, in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons. The race base is listed at Henderson Hall, Penpentre, Talybont On Usk, Powys.
Three distances are offered:
- 49 mile Ultra, mixed trail mountain canal road, elevation 2,258 m
- 26 mile Marathon, single loop of the classic route, elevation 1,319 m
- 13 mile Half Marathon, route east of Talybont, includes Tor Y Foel, elevation 543 m
The Ultra is described as roughly 50 miles made from two loops of a 23 mile circuit with an out and back ascent to Pen y Fan on the first loop. The Marathon follows a single loop of the same classic route with a quick trip up Pen y Fan. The Half Marathon runs in and around the village and takes in Tor Y Foel and the Talybont reservoir.
Races are mixed surface events including trail, mountain, canal and road sections. The event occurs in mid November, when conditions have ranged from sunshine to temperatures around minus 8 degrees Celsius, often with rain and mist. Entries open 1 December 2025 and close 1 November 2026. Entry fees shown are Ultra £80, Marathon £60 and Half Marathon £40. Minimum age for entry is 18. The event is organised by Andali Events.
