About the race
The Saltmarsh Half Marathon is a trail event following the Saltmarsh Coast pathway along the River Crouch from South Woodham Ferrers to Riverside Park in Burnham-on-Crouch. The route is mostly off road, will be fully marked, and has a race cut off time of 4 hours. The event is open to runners and walkers and is licensed by the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics rules. Aid stations are provided at approximately 3.5 mi (water only), 5.5 mi and 9.8 mi (full aid).
Stations are stocked with a mix of sweet and savoury snacks including jelly babies, flapjacks, fruit, nuts and products from event partners Tribe and Chia Charge, plus squash and flat coke. Participants are asked to bring their own receptacle because the event is cupless; reusable cups are available to purchase during registration and on race day, and staff can fill flasks or reusable cups at the stations. A GPX file will be issued nearer the event to reflect any course adjustments. Practical arrangements include a pre-event shuttle from Riverside Park (finish) to SWF Rugby Club (start) with limited tickets available at registration, local car parks near the start and finish, and a bag drop service where a bus transfers belongings from the start to the finish.
T shirt sizes requested within one month of the event cannot be guaranteed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
