Chiltern Hills 100K
The Chiltern Hills 100K is a trail ultramarathon held on 2 October 2027, based at Chesham Guides Headquarters in Lowndes Park, Chesham, Buckinghamshire. The fully marked, anticlockwise loop covers about 100 km with approximately 1800 m of ascent and visits many local landmarks including the Ashridge Estate, the Ridgeway between Ivinghoe Beacon and Aldbury, Tring Park, Wendover, Coombe Hill, Whiteleaf Hill, Bledlow Ridge, areas around Hampden, and Great Missenden before returning to Chesham.
The race is limited to 250 runners, has a minimum age of 20 and a 19 hour time limit. It is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules, and it is an UTMB World Series index race. The event uses GPS open tracking and chip timing with live results. A drop bag service is provided at Hastoe (41.4 km).
There are six checkpoints at roughly 14 km (Hastoe), 28 km (Little Gaddesden), 41.4 km (Hastoe), 57.8 km (Whiteleaf Hill), 75.3 km (Bledlow Ridge) and 88 km (Little Hampden). Checkpoints provide water, cola, Precision Fuel & Hydration electrolyte drinks, gels and chews, snack items, pre-made sandwiches, flapjacks and fresh fruit; hot drinks and extra water are available at specific later checkpoints.
Runners must carry mandatory kit for the whole race including a mobile phone with an emergency number saved, route GPX, a refillable hydration system (minimum 0.5 L), waterproof or windproof jacket, spare warm layers, head torch with spare battery, basic first aid items, a reusable cup and payment method.
