About the race
The Chiltern Hills 100K is a trail ultramarathon held on 2 October 2027 from Chesham, based at the Chesham Guides Headquarters. The race is a 100K anticlockwise loop with about 1800m+ of ascent, returning to Chesham at the end of the circuit.
The route passes notable Chiltern landmarks and areas including the Ashridge Estate, Little Gaddesden, The Ridgeway (Ivinghoe Beacon to Aldbury), Tring Park, Wendover, Coombe Hill, Whiteleaf Hill, Bledlow Ridge, Hampden and Great Missenden. The course is fully marked and requires runners to carry GPS navigation and a printed map.
There are six checkpoints and aid stations with water, electrolytes, gels, chews, snacks, sandwiches and fresh fruit. Checkpoint locations include Hastoe (14KM and 41.4KM), Little Gaddesden (28KM), Whiteleaf Hill (57.8KM), Bledlow Ridge Village Hall (75.3KM) and Little Hampden (88KM); some stations provide WC facilities and hot drinks at selected points. A drop bag is available at the Hastoe checkpoint.
The event is limited to 250 runners, has a minimum age of 20 and a 19 hour time allowance. It is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules, and it is listed as a UTMB World Series index race. Entries include chip timing with live results, GPS tracking, medical support, a finishers medal and a t-shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
