North Chilterns 50K
The North Chilterns 50K is a 50 km trail race held from Putteridge Bury Country House in Luton, Bedfordshire. The route covers approximately 798 m of elevation and follows local trails including sections of the Chiltern Way, Warden Hill, Barton and Pegsdon Hills. The course is fully marked and a GPX file is available for GPS devices.
The race has a maximum field of 250 runners, a time limit of 8 hours 45 minutes, and a minimum age of 20. It is licensed by the Trail Running Association and listed as a UTMB World Series index race. There are three on-course aid stations at 14.3 km, 28 km and 37.2 km providing water, cola, Precision Fuel & Hydration products, crisps, sweets and fresh fruit. Onsite facilities at the event base include indoor registration, toilets, coffee and a bag drop; free onsite parking is provided. Entries include chip timing with live results, a finishers medal and coursewide medical support.
Runners must carry required kit for the whole event, including a mobile phone with an emergency contact saved, route map on a phone or watch, waterproof jacket, headtorch, refillable hydration of at least 0.5 L, cash or card, warm hat and gloves and a foil blanket.
