North Chilterns 50K
The North Chilterns 50K is a 50km trail race held on 21st November 2026 from Putteridge Bury, Luton (LU2 8LE) in Bedfordshire. The route follows sections of the Chiltern Way and Ridgeway terrain, including ridgeline running and viewpoints at Warden Hill, Barton Hills and the Pegsdon Hills. The course total elevation gain is 798m+.
The route is fully marked with orange arrows and ribbons and staffed by marshals at several key points. All runners must carry a digital copy of the route on a watch or phone as a backup. Navigation is supported by three aid stations: CP1 at Arnold Rec, Barton (14.3km), CP2 at The View (28km) and CP3 at Offley Village Hall (37.2km); toilets are available at the event base and all three checkpoints. Aid stations provide water, cola, Precision Fuel & Hydration electrolyte drink, gels and chews, crisps, sweets and fresh fruit.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules. Maximum permitted field is 250 runners and the overall time limit is 8 hours 45 minutes. Minimum age to enter is 20 and dogs are not permitted. Required kit includes a mobile with an emergency contact saved, route map on watch or phone, waterproof jacket, headtorch, refillable hydration (min 0.5L), cash or card, warm hat and gloves and a foil blanket.
