Run the Wild Half Marathon
This is a trail half marathon set in the Chiltern Hills covering about 13 miles / 21.1 km with an ascent of around 300 m. The route follows undulating chalk hills and local woods and includes a refreshment point just over halfway.
Participants are grouped by ability and led by local English Athletics qualified Run Leaders who provide trail technique instruction. Steep sections are walked. The organiser requires participants to be able to run 10 km on the road in 90 minutes or less; first-time half marathoners and first-time trail runners are accepted.
Practical details: the event is half a day in length, places are limited to 50, and parking is available on site. Rail access places the start about a 15 minute walk from the station and the location is described as roughly 30 minutes north west of London by rail or road. On-site facilities include a cafe, toilets and a bag drop.
Included items are a refreshment point, a Run Leader, a finisher’s medal and a Trees not Tees certificate. Personal insurance and travel are not included. The organiser provides a mandatory kit list and aims to respond to bookings within one business day. Spectator viewing locations are provided in the final briefing sent before the event.
