Rock Solid Marathon and Half Marathon

The third annual Rock Solid Marathon and Half Marathon takes place Saturday, February 27, 2027 in Coupeville, Washington on Whidbey Island. The event includes in-person and virtual race options and uses Goldie's and The Roost in historic Coupeville as race headquarters and the start and finish area.

Courses run along winding coastal roads and scenic trails. The route crosses the island to Ebey's Landing and continues through the Kettles Trail System. The Half Marathon follows Madrona Way along Penn Cove, passing the Captain Whidbey Inn, before returning to Coupeville. The Marathon diverges after the Kettles trails to include natural beach sections and country roads, then rejoins the Half Marathon route on Madrona Way toward the finish. Course maps are provided for the race routes.

Distances offered include:

  • 26.2 miles, in-person and virtual
  • 13.1 miles, in-person and virtual

All runners receive a custom race t-shirt and a finisher medal. The Roost hosts packet pickup and a pizza party on the Friday evening before the race and Goldie's is active on race day. Awards and speeches are scheduled for the afternoon on Saturday. All event profits will be donated to The Rock Solid Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3), and a donation option is available during registration.
