Deception Pass 50K/26.2M/25K - Fall

The event is a set of trail races held at Deception Pass State Park near Oak Harbor, WA. Courses run along coastal bluffs, steep cliffs, dense forest and sea-level sections, and cross Deception Pass twice via the historic Deception Pass Bridge which sits about 180 feet above the water. Trails are mostly single track with rocky and rooty sections, short steep hills, and a few short paved stretches including about one mile at the start. The 50K and 26.2M also include two additional pavement sections near Cornet Bay of roughly 1.5 miles each.

Distances

  • 50K - 4,200 ft gain and loss, 4 aid stations, early start available for runners needing extra time
  • 26.2M - 3,650 ft gain and loss, 3 aid stations, early start available for eligible runners
  • 25K - 2,600 ft gain and loss, 1 aid station
  • 1K - kids fun run, about 100 ft gain and loss

Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink, sandwiches, fruit, snacks, gels, first aid supplies and feminine hygiene products. Runners can use drop bags at Bowman Bay and at Cornet for the longer races. Participants must display a Discover Pass to park in the state park. There is no overnight parking at the start/finish area; Quarry Campground remains available for camping during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
