About the race

The Deception Pass Fall weekend takes place November 7 and 8 in Oak Harbor, WA, inside Deception Pass State Park. The event uses trails that run along Cranberry Lake, coastal bluffs and forests, and crosses Deception Pass Bridge twice, a bridge that sits about 180 feet above the water.

The courses start at the Cranberry Lake Day Use Area and include about one mile of paved park road before moving onto mostly single track. Trails range from smooth sections to rocky and rooty technical footing, with short but sometimes steep hills. The 50K and 26.2M courses include additional pavement sections on Cornet Bay Road near the halfway point and again near the finish.

Distances:

  • 50K
  • 26.2M
  • 25K
  • 1K kids fun run

Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fresh fruit, chips, pickles, cookies or candy, some gels, basic first aid and feminine hygiene supplies. Drop bags are allowed at Bowman Bay and Cornet for the longer distances. Cutoffs are enforced at aid station locations (Bowman Bay mile 8.2 and Cornet at the course mileage points); runners not meeting cutoffs will be removed from course and transported back to the finish area.

Parking requires a Discover Pass to be displayed on vehicles. No overnight parking or camping is allowed at the start/finish area; Quarry Campground is available for camping in the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
