Rayne'ing Medals Anniversary
This anniversary event takes place on 14 February 2027 at Rayne Station on the Flitch Way, a traffic-free, hard-packed trail that runs through Essex countryside between Braintree and Bishops Stortford.
Five entry options are offered:
- 5km
- 10km
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
- 6 hour timed event
The course is set as repeated loops of 5.3 km. Distances are achieved by completing the required number of laps: two laps for 10 km, four for a half marathon, eight for a full marathon. The 6 hour event permits continued laps until the clock stops the effort. After each loop runners can choose which of two marked 5 km loop directions to run next, allowing repeated runs of the same loop or alternating directions.
An aid station is available at the end of every lap. Runners may leave a personal bag at the aid station. Refreshments typically include flapjacks, fruit, nuts, water and squash. This is a cupless event; participants must provide their own drinking receptacle.
The event is UKA affiliated with a Trail Running Association permit and is a 100 Club qualifying event. Limited parking is available at the Booking Hall with additional parking on New Road opposite the Flitch Way. Participants are asked to respect other path users and use bins provided to avoid littering. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
