Race Thru The Redwoods : Felton, California
The event features trail and road races that start and finish at Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton. The main course passes largely beneath redwood trees in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, then through meadows and alongside the San Lorenzo River. The surface includes paved and dirt roads, scenic singletrack trails, and a downhill return on mixed dirt and paved surfaces.
The course rises approximately 300 feet between mile 2.5 and mile 3.5. It is marked with mile markers and staffed with water and aid stations. Professional electronic chip timing is used and results are provided immediately after the race.
Packet pickup occurs on race day on location; packets can be picked up as early as 7am. Event parking is available at Roaring Camp Railroads and is free for racers. A continental breakfast is served to registered runners. Zayante Fire Department offers a complimentary pancake breakfast for runners while supplies last and sells pancakes to non-runners for $10 as a fundraiser.
Entrants receive an event t-shirt. Medals are presented to all 10K finishers. The kids race includes awards for the top three boys and girls in age groups.
The race is promoted by the Felton Business and Community Association and directs proceeds to local community events and charities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
