Raby Castle Trail Runs 2026

The Raby Castle Trail Runs take place at Raby Castle, Staindrop, Darlington DL2 3AH. The event returns to the castle estate and uses the parkland and gardens within the historic grounds, which include around 200 acres of lakes, woodland and open grassland. Runners may encounter herds of red and fallow deer on the routes.

New routes for 2026 include the following distances:

  • 5 km (11+)
  • 10 km (15+)
  • Half Marathon (15+)

Route details will be confirmed before the event. Planned terrain includes a mix of firm paths, woodland trails, grass sections and gentle undulations. The event is described as suitable for a range of trail runners and aims to use the estate scenery as part of the course.

The event is cani cross friendly; one controlled dog per runner is allowed. Live chip timing will be provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive a medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a drink and snack; there is an option to add a bespoke event T shirt for £14. Free parking is available on site for participants.
