About the race
Raby Castle Trail Runs is a trail running event held at Raby Castle, Staindrop, Darlington (DL2 3AH). The event introduces new route options in 2026 and takes place across the Raby Castle park and gardens, a medieval castle estate of about 200 acres with ornamental lakes and woodland trails. Runners may encounter red and fallow deer on the course.
Distances offered include:
- 5 km (11+)
- 10 km (15+)
- Half marathon (15+)
Route details will be confirmed soon. The planned routes mix firm paths, woodland trails, grass sections and gentle undulations. One controlled dog per runner is allowed for cani-cross. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive a medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a drink and snack. There is an option to add a bespoke event T shirt for £14. Free on-site parking is available for participants. Entry fees range from £25 to £30 depending on distance and offer type. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
