Phoenix Phearsome Phour 70K Ultra
The Phoenix Phearsome Phour 70K Ultra is a group run in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve on February 20, 2027. The route links four major summits in a single continuous effort: Camelback Mountain, Piestewa Peak, North Mountain, and Shaw Butte, with eight total summit hits. The course distance is 43.8 miles with 11,312 feet of climbing. The start and finish location is the intersection of 36th Street and Pima Canyon Drive, with street parking on 36th Street and a church lot at Lincoln and 36th Street available at participants own risk.
The route is out and back and requires completing each summit in sequence using designated trails. Side trails that rejoin the main corridor are not permitted. Participants must follow the official TCX file, Strava route number 3504854829813372808, which must be loaded to a navigation device before the attempt. There are two participation classes, Supported and Unsupported, and no pacers are allowed.
There are no official aid stations or event medical personnel. The route passes multiple public water sources reported along the course, including Echo Canyon Trailhead, Cholla Trailhead, Piestewa Peak Trailhead, Dreamy Draw, North Mountain visitor area, and Shaw Butte Trailhead, but participants should verify availability beforehand.
