Forged For Good Run and Ruck 5k/10k
Forged For Good Run and Ruck is a tactical trail event at Skunk Creek Trailhead in Peoria, AZ on December 12, 2026. The event offers two distance options and two participation formats on trail terrain.
The distances available are:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K (6.2 miles)
There are running-only and ruck divisions. Ruck participants bring their own ruck sack or backpack; a suggested weight is 35 lbs or whatever weight feels safe for the participant. A Veterans Honor Ceremony is part of the program, and a post-race cookout follows the courses. A raffle with four prize baskets will be held; raffle tickets are $2 each at the event.
The event benefits Soldier's Best Friend, an Arizona nonprofit that pairs veterans living with PTSD and TBI with rescue dogs trained as service dogs at no cost to the veteran and covers medical costs for the dog through the program. The majority of proceeds go to that mission after event costs are covered.
Additional event details include a donation incentive: bringing a grocery bag of hygiene items or pet essentials for veterans and service dogs earns five bonus raffle tickets per bag. Military, veteran, and first responder participants who show a valid ID at check-in receive three complimentary bonus raffle tickets. The registration fee is $50.
