McDowell Mountain Frenzy Trail Runs
McDowell Mountain Frenzy takes place Saturday, December 5, 2026 at McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Fountain Hills, Arizona. The event offers multiple trail distances on desert single track within the park and portions of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.

Courses use winding single track and sections of the McDowell Competitive Track, with short steep climbs and rolling terrain. The 50 Mile route includes three out-and-back climbs and access to Thompson Peak; the 50K is a single loop incorporating Escondido Trail and Pemberton loop. Course markings include orange ribbons, reflective medallions, and laminated signs.
Event services include chip timing with live splits, well stocked aid stations approximately every 3 to 10.5 miles, drop bag support at designated aid stations, and post race food. Crews are allowed at the start/finish area; pacers are permitted only for 50 Mile runners on the final loop within the Competitive Track. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers at each distance and all finishers receive a finisher award.
Parking is at the Competitive Track lot with overflow across the street, and the park charges a $10 entry fee per vehicle. The event follows trail etiquette and cupless practices to reduce waste. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
