Peacock Plod

Peacock Plod takes place at Hockwold Hall, a former royal residence set in private grounds on the border of Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The estate includes landscaped parkland, mature trees, open lawns and a flock of peacocks that may be present along the route. The next event date is 13 September 2026.

All participants start together and then choose how far to go. The course is a 5.3 km loop and the event offers multiple distance options:

  • 5k
  • 10k
  • 15k
  • Half marathon
  • Heavy half marathon
  • Full marathon
  • Ultra marathon

There is a six hour time limit for completing laps such that runners must be on their final lap before that limit. Every finisher receives a medal. The event provides cake at the finish, drink options at the aid station including water, squash and coke, and chip timing. The course is marked with arrows. The organiser describes the atmosphere as warm, friendly and inclusive. This is a cupless event so participants are asked to bring their own cup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
