Outrun the Stigma 5K Run/Walk
Outrun the Stigma is a community run and walk event held in Massapequa Park, New York, on October 24, 2026. The course is set in the Massapequa Park Preserve and was designed by the NYPD Triathlon team. The event includes a main 5K run/walk and a kids fun run for ages 1 to 10.
Entry fees for 2026 are tiered by registration date: $25 if registered by September 1, $30 from September 2 to October 13, and $35 after October 13. The kids fun run requests a $5 donation per child. Registered adult finishers of the 5K receive finisher medals. T-shirt availability is not guaranteed for registrations after September 30. Personalized bibs are offered for registrations completed at least three weeks in advance.
The event provides live, text, and email results, free finish line photos, and an after party with food and music. An awards ceremony and brunch are planned pending weather. Awards include top three male and female overall, top male and female active NYPD officer, and male and female age group awards spanning youth through 90 and above. The event includes memorial and awareness elements, noting a walk in honor of those suffering in silence and remembrance of those lost on 9-11. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
