Ontario Summit Trail Races
The tenth edition of the Ontario Summit Trail Races is scheduled for September 11, 2027, at Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill. Race headquarters are at Watkins Lodge and parking is organized in reserved pavilions along the park's one-way, counter-clockwise loop, with volunteers directing traffic. Participants are asked not to park on the race course, the main park road, the lot by Wilson Lodge, or in the small lots by the jump off.
The course is mostly rolling, tree-covered single-track around the summit of Gannett Hill and uses nearly every trail in the park. Several miles run on the Finger Lakes Trail and private property. Trail surfaces include rocks, roots, and wooden bridges, and the route offers notable views.
There are three fully staffed aid stations around miles 3, 6, and 9 offering water, Skratch Labs Hydration, GU gels, candy, watermelon, and salty snacks. Cups will be limited; long course runners are encouraged to bring hydration packs and their own drinking vessel. Organizers will consider requests to transport personal drop bags to aid stations.
The short course shares the start with the long course but turns at Aid Station 1 (about mile 3) and remains entirely within Ontario County Park on trails with relatively little elevation change.
Volunteers receive breakfast, a post-race meal, and a race shirt. Key volunteer roles receive options of event entries or festival tickets. Registration fees are listed per distance; distance switching, deferrals, refund windows, and conduct policies are specified by the organizer.
