Nuclear Rush
Nuclear Rush is a muddy obstacle course event held on the Secret Nuclear Bunker Estate in Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood, Essex. The event uses farmland, woodland and lake terrain and features a mix of natural and man‑made obstacles, water zones with buoyancy aids, and a multi‑lane zipline into water.
Distances for adult races include:
- 6 km, approximately 40+ obstacles across farmland, woodland and lakes
- 12 km, approximately 70+ obstacles over longer, more endurance focused terrain
Obstacles listed for the course include a 20 foot Deathslide, a Travelator and a 15 lane zip wire into water. Courses are chip timed and finishers receive a medal and a free finishers photo. Support facilities on site include hot washdowns, changing facilities, a free car park and a free bag drop. There is no penalty for skipping obstacles; participants may attempt as many or as few obstacles as they wish.
Age and entry notes in the adult categories specify that the 6 km race is open to participants aged 13 and over with adult accompaniment required for 13 to 15 year olds, while the 12 km race is shown for ages 16 and over. The event also includes an event village for spectators with music, food, drinks and merchandise. Group entries and fundraising opportunities are supported.
