About the race
Nuclear Rush is a series of muddy obstacle races held at the Secret Nuclear Bunker Estate in Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood, Essex. The event offers multiple race distances across adult, family and children categories and mixes natural and man-made obstacles across farmland, woodland and lake terrain.
Adult options include a 6 km course with about 40+ obstacles and a 12 km course with over 70 obstacles. Signature obstacles on the course include a 20 foot Deathslide, the Travelator and a multi-lane zip wire into water. The adult 6 km race is open to participants aged 13 and above, with adult accompaniment required for 13–15 year olds. The 12 km event is shown for ages 16 and above. Races are chip timed and finishers receive medals; there is no penalty for skipping obstacles.
Family and children waves (Rookies and Family) provide shorter, age-specific courses with buoyancy aids available for water obstacles and children’s changing facilities. Common on-site facilities include hot washdowns, changing areas, free car parking, free bag drop and free finishers photos.
