NYC Trail Mix - Staten Island NY
NYC Trail Mix is an ultratrail event organized by Redpoint Productions that benefits the Greenbelt Conservancy. Races use looped courses on Staten Island trails and pass through areas such as Blood Root Valley, High Rock Park, La Tourette Park, and the Field of Dreams.
Distances:
- 50 Miler 3 x 16.6 mile loop
- 50K 2 x 15.5 mile loop
- Half Marathon 1 x 13.1 mile loop
The course emphasizes single-track trail running with minimal road crossings. Aid stations are located at High Rock, La Tourette, and the Nature Center. High Rock is about 5 miles into the loop and does not permit crews, spectators, or drop bags. La Tourette is about 11 miles into each loop and allows crews, spectators, and drop bags. The Nature Center is at the Start/Finish location. The half marathon visits two aid stations; the 50K visits five; the 50 Miler visits eight.
Aid station provisions typically include electrolyte hydration (Skratch), fruit, sandwiches, potatoes, pretzels, chips, candy, broth and some prepared items; vegan and gluten free options are available. Pacers are not allowed for the half marathon. For the 50K and 50 Miler, pacers may join at specified mile points. Parking is at the recreation center lots on Brielle Ave near 501 Brielle Ave, and the Start/Finish is reachable by a short gravel path or shuttle bus.
