About the race
NYC Trail Mix is an ultra trail running event on Staten Island that includes three distances:
- 50 Mile: 3 x 16.6 mile loop
- 50K: 2 x 15.5 mile loop
- Half Marathon: 1 x 13.1 mile loop
The courses run through the Greenbelt, using more than 35 miles of local trails and many single-track sections with minimal road crossings. The route passes locations such as Blood Root Valley, High Rock Park, La Tourette Park, and the Field of Dreams. The Start and Finish are at the Nature Center and the loop layouts repeat through the same trail sections.
Aid stations are located at High Rock, La Tourette, and the Nature Center. High Rock is roughly 5 miles into the loop and does not allow crews, spectators, or drop bags. La Tourette is about 11 miles into each loop and allows crews, spectators, and drop bags. The Nature Center serves as the main support area. Across the distances the half marathon visits 2 aid stations, the 50K visits 5, and the 50 Mile visits 8. Aid offerings include Skratch hydration, fruit, pb&j, potatoes, pretzels, chips, candy, and occasional savory items; vegan and gluten free options are available.
Organized by Redpoint Productions, the event benefits the Greenbelt Conservancy. Parking is at the recreation center and nearby lots on Brielle Avenue with the Start/Finish reachable via a 0.2 mile gravel path or shuttle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
