MCW The Holmdel Classic
The Holmdel Classic is a trail event on December 12, 2026 in Holmdel Park, Holmdel, New Jersey. The race uses a single loop course of roughly 4.5 miles and offers several distance options.
- 50 kmish : seven loops
- Halfish : three loops
- 4.5 mile : one loop
The course is about 95% trail and double track with approximately 584 feet of elevation gain per lap. Terrain includes grass, dirt, rocks, roots, gravel, short pavement sections, and repeated uphill and downhill sections. The route begins in an open grass field, includes a quarter mile uphill, reaches a feature known as The Bowl around mile 1.5, and then follows rolling double track into wooded single track before returning to the start/finish. Course markings include lawn signs, pink flagging tape, and signs on cones; participants are instructed not to follow unmarked trails.
Timing is managed with an RFID system that records each completed lap. The 50 kmish distance has a strict eight hour cutoff, while the Halfish distance is described as hiker friendly. Aid will be available at the start/finish only, offering drinks, snacks, hydration, and basic first aid; there are no aid stations on the loop. Spectators are allowed and pacers are not permitted. Participants may carry their own supplies.
