Event Overview
The North Bend Trail Fest takes place in North Bend, Washington, featuring a variety of mountain running events that showcase the rugged terrain of the Snoqualmie Valley and the Cascade Mountains. The festival includes multiple race distances and formats across two days of competition.
Distances and Formats
Participants can choose from several distinct events:
- Mt Si VK: An uphill race climbing 1,000 meters in less than 5 km.
- Little Si 10k: A 10 km course with approximately 1,275 feet of elevation gain, including road and technical trail sections.
- North Bend Skyline 30k: A 30 km mountain challenge with 6,300 feet of elevation gain on technical trails.
- North Bend Double: A multi-day challenge combining the Mt Si VK on Saturday and the Skyline 30k on Sunday.
Course Details
The courses are designed with steep climbs and technical terrain. The 10 km route begins at Torguson Park, utilizing road sections before entering the Little Si trail system characterized by rocks and roots. The 30 km route starts beneath Mount Si and involves relentless vertical gain. The VK event concludes at a rock outcrop on the mountain summit.
Festival Activities
The event center at Torguson Park hosts various community activities, including a community gravel ride with bike demos, a climbing wall, and a kids' race for ages 9 and under. There are also sponsor activations and gear demos on-site. Finishers receive post-race food and a choice between a custom wooden award or a donation to plant three trees in the Pacific Northwest.
Competition Divisions
The races offer three gender divisions: Men, Women, and Nonbinary. Participants in the 30 km can self-select into Elite, Sport, or Masters (45+) categories.
