Run for the Gnomes Half Marathon & 5K

The Run for the Gnomes is a community running event organized by the Maple Valley Rotary Club on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Lake Wilderness Park in Maple Valley, WA. The event offers two distances:

  • Half Marathon
  • 5K Run/Walk

The course is described as fast, flat, and scenic and is mostly on gravel trails. Both distances are chip timed and all finishers receive a medal. Strollers are allowed but users should exercise caution because of the gravel surface and will be asked to start at the back of the field. Dogs are not permitted. Walkers and families are explicitly welcome on the 5K.

Proceeds from the event benefit the nonprofit The More We Love. Registrations submitted before September 15 are guaranteed a T-shirt in the ordered size; orders after that date are not guaranteed a shirt or a specific size. Packet pickup is organized at Lake Wilderness Park with an early pickup option the day before the race.

The event is staffed by volunteers from the Maple Valley Rotary Club and related community groups, with course signage and timing provided for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
