Hyak Passage 25K

Hyak Passage is a 25K mountain trail race at Snoqualmie Pass that runs from the Hyak Trailhead on the Palouse to Cascades Trail to Annette Lake and back. The route includes a 2.25-mile bore through the Snoqualmie Tunnel, wide gravel sections on the Palouse to Cascades Trail, and rooty, rocky singletrack on the climb to Annette Lake. Runners pass through the tunnel twice and gain about 1,800 feet over the course.

Two staffed aid stations provide PB&J sandwiches, fruit, snacks, plain water, and an endurance drink mix; first-aid supplies are available. Volunteers carry supplies 3.5 miles to the Annette Lake station. The Trailhead Aid Station is the only crew-access and drop-bag location. The event offers approximately 7.5 hours of course support and a finisher award.

Required gear and event policies are specified: a headlamp is mandatory for both tunnel passages; the race is cupless so runners must bring their own bottle or reusable cup; participants should carry adequate hydration, nutrition, and layers for October mountain weather. Course junctions are marked with yellow and black arrows and pink and black checkered confidence ribbons. Bibs must be worn visibly for timing and participant check-ins. Entries are nonrefundable and nontransferable; timely withdrawals may qualify for partial credit under the organizer’s policy.

Post-race food includes vegetarian and meat tamales, coffee, kombucha, water, and electrolytes; no alcohol will be served. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
