Norfolk Coastal Trail Marathon and Half Marathon

The event takes place on 19 September 2026 and offers two trail distances along the Norfolk Coast Path. Routes are mainly off road and follow the well marked path identified by signs with acorns. Both distances finish at Morston, and the course has not been measured by a UKA approved measurer so distances are approximate.

Start locations are Holme-next-the-Sea car park for the full marathon and Burnham Overy Staithe at Burnham Overy Village Hall for the half marathon. Car parking at Holme-next-the-Sea and Morston is pay and display; the Burnham Overy playing field is for drop offs only and vehicles must be removed by 11.00am. Coach transport will be available from the finish back to the starts and must be booked at the same time as entry; the cost is £12.

There are checkpoint refreshment locations on each route, including specific mile markers for the full marathon at 6, 13, 17, 20 and 23 miles, and for the half marathon at 4, 7 and 10 miles. Marshals will be at main road crossings but traffic will not be stopped. The event is cup less so entrants should bring reusable cups or bottles and carry enough food and drink to reach the first checkpoint.

Entries are limited to 200 full marathon places and 300 half marathon places. The minimum age is 18. Prizes are awarded to the first three finishers in Female and Male Open categories. The event is licensed by the Trail Runners Association and held under UK Athletics Rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
