Norfolk Coastal Trail Marathon and Half Marathon
This event offers two trail distances on the Norfolk coast, finishing at Morston. The routes follow the Norfolk Coast Path, marked by acorn signs, and are mainly off road. The course has not been measured by a UKA approved measurer so distances are approximate.
Distances
- Full Marathon
- Half Marathon
The full marathon starts at Holme next the Sea car park and the half marathon starts at Burnham Overy Staithe. Entries are limited to 200 for the full marathon and 300 for the half marathon. Five pounds from each entry will be donated to the East Anglian Air Ambulance. The minimum age on race day is 18. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and prizes are awarded for first, second and third in female and male open categories.
On course support includes checkpoints stocked with squash, water and snacks at named locations. Full marathon checkpoints include Chalkpit Lane Chosely (about 6 miles), Burnham Overy Staithe (about 13 miles), Lady Anne’s Holkham (water only, about 17 miles), Wells next the Sea sailing club (about 20 miles) and Stiffkey Marsh car park (about 23 miles). Half marathon checkpoints are at Lady Anne’s Holkham, Wells next the Sea sailing club and Stiffkey Marsh car park.
Timing uses gun electronic timing with mats and manual recording at checkpoints. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs or dogs accompanying runners. Coach transport from the finish to the starts is available for a fee of £12 and must be booked with entry. Entries are non refundable; transfers to another runner are allowed until 03/09/2026. The event is licensed by the Trail Runners Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
