Nasty 9 Trail Run - Lexington, VA

The Nasty 9 Trail Run is a community trail event held at Brushy Hills, a 600 acre watershed tract on the outskirts of Lexington, Virginia. All courses are on single track trails maintained by the Friends of Brushy Hills and affiliated with the Rockbridge Area Conservation Council.

The event offers two distances:

  • 9 Mile course, over 2000 feet of vertical gain on single track
  • 4 Mile course, about 500 feet of climbing on single track

The race functions as a fundraiser for the Friends of Brushy Hills and for Rockbridge County High School, Parry McClure High School, and Maury River Middle School track and cross-country teams.

Race fees are listed as $60 for the 9 Miler and $45 for the 4 Miler. A student discount is available; participants should contact the organizer for details. Online registration closes Thursday, September 17, 2026. In-person packet pickup is available the day before at a local running shop and at race headquarters on race day.
