Terrapin Mountain

Terrapin Mountain is a trail race held on March 20, 2027 at the Sedalia Center, 1108 Sedalia School Rd., Big Island, VA. The Sedalia Center sits adjacent to the George Washington National Forest and serves as the start and finish area.

Distances

• 50K, 31.1 miles trail, 7,000 ft elevation gain/loss
• Half-Marathon, trail distance included in the Blue Ridge Trail Series

The 50K course combines roads and singletrack with summit and ridge sections and multiple loop and out-and-back segments. Aid stations are located at Camping Gap, Hunting Creek, Goff Mtn Rd., and Terrapin Mtn Lane, with mile markers provided in course materials. Crew access for 50K participants is permitted only at the Goff Mtn Rd. aid station.

Runners must complete the course within the published time limit of nine hours; there is also a hard cut-off at the Terrapin Mtn Lane aid station of seven hours and fifteen minutes. Awards include a finisher award and top three male and female finishers in each distance plus age category awards for juniors, masters, grand masters, and super masters.

Packet pick-up is available Friday evening and Saturday morning at the Sedalia Center. Friday evening pizza is offered for an additional fee of $7.71. Car and tent camping is free at the Sedalia Center field; RV spots with electricity can be booked through the Sedalia Center. Registration details, fee tiers, transfer rules, and a Pregnancy and Postpartum Policy with up to a two year deferral or refund are published by the organizer.
