Arctic 5K
The Arctic 5K Trail Race is scheduled for February 6, 2027 at Hydaway Outdoor Center, 936 Camp Hydaway Road, Lynchburg, Virginia. This is the 14th annual edition and the fourth trail race in the Liberty Mountain Trail Series.
The course covers 3.1 miles and is composed of single track trail intermixed with some forest roads. Entry for the 5K carries a registration fee of $30. Registration opens July 20, 2026 and closes February 5, 2027. A featured giveaway T shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed before January 28; a limited number of additional shirts will be available at packet pickup on a first come basis.
Packet pickup is scheduled for February 5 at LaHaye Rotunda from noon to 6 P.M. and on February 6 at Hydaway from 8:00 to 8:45 A.M. Awards will be given to the top three male and female overall finishers, the top three male and female finishers in each age group, and the top male and female masters overall for participants over 40 years of age. Overall awards are ranked by gun time; age group awards are ranked by chip time. Door prizes will be given during the event.
A finisher award is available for runners who complete all five LMTS 2026-2027 races in April 2027. A referral discount refunds $20 after three referred registrations. A student discount is applied at checkout. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
