Muntjac 15
Muntjac 15 is a trail race around Danbury that links five different woodland areas. The route features steep ascents, winding downhills and technical singletrack sections. The advertised distance is 15 miles with about 1600 ft of elevation gain.
The course will be fully waymarked and a GPX file is available for navigation. There is one checkpoint roughly halfway that will be well stocked and will include vegan options kept separate. Participants are asked to note any additional dietary requirements on their entry form so they can be catered for.
Prizes are offered in the open category with bespoke locally made trophies and monetary awards: winners £50, runners up £25, third place £15. A £100 bonus is offered for anyone who sets a new course record. There is also a marked Strava segment of approximately 1 km with a prize for the fastest male and female on that segment; that prize cannot be won by anyone finishing in the top three overall. Winners will be announced the following day on social media.
Other event details: all runners receive a quality memento; the event is cupless; crewing and pacing are not permitted. There is ample free parking at race HQ at Dawson Field Main Road, Danbury, Chelmsford, Essex CM3 4NQ, and a secure bag drop is available. Entry fee listed at £14.50.
