Mountaineer Rumble 12 Hour
The Mountaineer Rumble is a 12 hour trail running event held at Kings Mountain State Park in Clover, SC. Participants run a recurring 4.5 mile loop that passes sections of the National Recreation Trail (Blue Blaze), the CCC Multi-Use Trail (Orange Blaze), the Living History Farm, and the Historic Farm Trail (Yellow Blaze.
The course offers views of Lake Crawford, Lake Crawford Dam, creeks, and rolling hills, and runners pass farm animals at the Living History Farm on each circuit. Aid and drop bag services are located on the loop, allowing runners access to race supplies and personal gear without leaving the course.
The event provides water, Gatorade, Tailwind, and Skratch for runners. Food items, energy gels, and other personal nutrition are the responsibility of each runner. The organizer states a goal to highlight portions of the park trail system and to support further park improvements.
