Mortonhall Local Event : Saturday 6 December
Mortonhall Local Event takes place at Mortonhall. Initial advance entries close midnight on 1 December; limited further advance entries with waterproof maps are available until midnight on 4 December. Entry on the day is possible subject to map availability; advance entries are recommended to guarantee a waterproof map. Entry on the day can be paid by card or cash, with bank transfer accepted afterwards. Senior fees are £6.00/£8.00 and junior/student fees are £3.00/£4.00. Juniors are defined as under 26 on 31 December. SI dibber hire is free but a £30 charge applies if lost. Pairs, groups, and families should make a single entry and receive one map; up to four additional maps may be requested at £1 each.
Courses
- White - 1.0 km, 20 m climb; inside campsite; for 6-10-year-olds, suitable unaccompanied under-16s.
- Yellow - 1.8 km, 45 m climb; uses linear features; suitable unaccompanied under-16s.
- Orange - 2.8 km, 55 m climb; basic compass and route choice; suitable unaccompanied under-16s.
- Red - 3.7 km, 85 m climb; basic compass and route choice; suitable unaccompanied under-16s.
- Light Green - 4.0 km, 50 m climb; uses estate and housing, 60% off road; under-16s must be accompanied.
- Green - 5.6 km, 110 m climb; uses estate and housing, 55% off road; under-16s must be accompanied.
All distances are straight-line; participants should expect to run up to 25% further on the ground. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
