Water of Leith Half
The Water of Leith Half is a point to point half marathon following the Water of Leith from just outside Balerno to Coalhill in Leith. The course covers Half Marathon (13.1 miles) along a mostly off road route that follows the river.
The route starts on a farm track off Harlow Road near Balerno and finishes at Coalhill in Leith. The course is well marked and marshalled at key road crossings. Roads are not closed to traffic during the event so runners must remain alert where the route meets roads.
The event is deliberately limited in size, with a maximum field of 200 runners. It is organised as a handicapped race with runners grouped by expected finish time. The organiser lists the event as sold out for the scheduled year.
Entries include a finisher medal, chip timed results, marshals at key points and a bag drop at Leith. An optional coach transfer from the finish back to the start is offered. All fundraising from the event benefits the Water of Leith Conservation Trust.
Additional practical details such as exact start location and transport options are provided by the organiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
