Scurry Events hosts a series of clearly marked and marshaled trail runs at Vogrie Country Park. The event offers mixed terrain routes that use estate paths, woodlands and sections along the Tyne Valley, with the race start and finish set in front of the Victorian baronial manor house.
Distances
- Half Marathon (Jump Ship Brewing) two 10.55 km laps mixed terrain
- 10 km two 5 km laps mixed terrain
- 5 km one 5 km lap mixed terrain
- 1.6 km family fun run around woodland paths not timed
Course notes state the half marathon follows park trails then runs along the Tyne Valley to Ford and through and around Pathhead. All routes are signposted and marshaled; surfaces include tarmac, grass, tracks and mud. Earphones are prohibited, dogs and canicross are not permitted, and the main trail courses are not suitable for pushchairs or run buggies (off‑road buggies are recommended for the fun run).
Facilities and services listed include toilets, a treetop cafe with hot and cold refreshments, a post‑race drink and snacks, first aid at start and finish, and a small bag tent for kit. Race numbers are issued at registration. Medals and race mementos are provided for Half, 10 km and 5 km competitors; all fun run children receive a medal and memento. Public transport does not reach the park directly; buses and the Borders railway stop at Gorebridge about a two mile walk away. A car park exit fee of £3 applies.
