Wild Deer Scottish Trail Running Festival 2026

Wild Deer Scottish Trail Running Festival takes place on 27 September 2026 at Dalkeith Country Park, Melville Gate Road, Dalkeith EH22 1RU. The venue is a privately owned 1,000-acre estate just off the Edinburgh Bypass at the top of the A68 near Edinburgh.

The event offers multiple race distances with specified age groups:

  • Family 1 Mile (ages 3+, parents run free)
  • 5 km (ages 11+)
  • 10 km (ages 15+)
  • Half Marathon (2 laps, ages 17+)
  • Marathon (4 laps, recommended 18+)
  • Ultra Marathon (5 laps)

All courses mix woodland trails, firm paths, grassy stretches, and rugged terrain. The event is Canicross friendly and permits one well controlled dog per runner. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. The Ultra Marathon has a cut off time of 8 hours.

On completion, finishers receive a medal, Wild Deer merchandise and an energy bar from VOOM Nutrition. There is an option to add a bespoke event T shirt for £14.
