Moose Mountain Trail Races
The Moose Mountain Trail Races is a sanctioned trail running event in Bragg Creek, Alberta, organized by Lewiston Ultra Events. The event offers four solo mountain trail distances that use trails within the Kananaskis Country park system and community-built trail networks.
The course starts and finishes at the West Bragg Creek recreational day-use area and ascends from rolling prairie into the foothills, passing through forested single and double-track trails. The route runs near Moose Mountain, described in event materials as an 8,000-foot peak, and uses a trail system of more than 150 km.
The event has been held since 1992 and is described by the organizer as Alberta’s oldest sanctioned trail race. The presentation emphasizes a grassroots, community-based organization and a long history within the regional trail running community.

Registration details from the organizer include a standard entry fee of $160 CDN plus applicable GST and platform fees. Participants must be at least 18 years old on race day. American Express and Discovery cards are not accepted. No refunds are offered and there is no waitlist. Bib transfers are permitted into shorter distances but transfers into the 50K are not allowed. Distance and registration transfers are permitted until 8:00 AM on August 9, 2027 for a $20 administration fee; no transfers occur after that date.
