Millstone Trail Races
The Millstone Trail Races is the 2027 rebranding of the Mill Stone 50K event at Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, SC. The 50K will use two 15.5 mile loops within the Greenway. The event takes place on private green space in the suburban Charlotte area.
The course is almost entirely single-track, technical trails with some gravel road and dirt trail. There will be few creek crossings, and conditions will likely be muddy depending on weather. Several bridges that were previously damaged have been replaced and are incorporated into the updated course. Course maps will be provided via Caltopo for real time navigation.
Distances
- 50K two 15.5 mile loops on single-track technical trails
- 25K new option replacing the previous 10 mile race
- 10K shorter option; a kids run is also planned
Aid stations are planned at the start and at on-course locations and will offer typical ultra food such as candy, pretzels, water, and Gatorade. Runners are asked to carry at least one water bottle. A preview run of the Millstone Loop is scheduled for July 11, 2026 at the Gateway Canteen and the daily use fee will be waived for attendees.
Entry fees include the Greenway daily use fee. Registration deadlines affect swag guarantees, and registration closes in early February with a mid-January deadline to guarantee swag sizes. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferrals. Awards will be presented overall for male and female finishers in the 50K and 25K, and 50K finishers will receive a custom medal made by a local artist. Inclement weather plans include holding the event rain or shine, with contingency planning for severe conditions and potential facility closures.
