Millstone Trail Races
The Millstone Trail Races take place at the Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Formerly known as the Mill Stone 50K, the event features a course located in a private green space in the suburban Charlotte area. The terrain consists primarily of technical single-track trails, with sections of dirt trail and gravel road. The course is not paved and includes several creek crossings and potentially muddy sections.
The following race distances are available:
- 50 km: This race consists of two 15.5-mile loops.
- 25 km: A single loop course.
- 10 km: A shorter distance option.
The event site features a landmark known as the Mill Stone, which is the original millstone from Webb's Mill. The race route passes this stone, located in the heart of the Greenway. Participants in the 50 km and 25 km categories receive race swag, while 10 km runners have the option to purchase it. Finishers of the 50 km race receive a custom medal created by a local artist.
Aid stations are positioned along the course, typically near the 4-mile and 8-mile markers, as well as at the start and finish area. These stations provide water and standard race food. Runners are required to carry at least one water bottle during the event. Registration for the event includes the daily use fee for the Greenway.
