Marriott's Way Marathon and Half Marathon
Marriott's Way Marathon and Half Marathon are held along Marriott's Way and finish at Aylsham Friendship Hall. The event raises funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, with a 5% donation from each entry. The organiser notes that the course has not been measured by a UKA approved measurer, so distances are approximate, and the route is largely traffic free with marshals and signs where possible.
Distances
- Marathon: follows Marriott's Way from Norwich to Aylsham Friendship Hall.
- Half Marathon: starts at Whitwell and Reepham Station and finishes in Aylsham.
Entries are limited to 200 participants overall. Minimum ages on race day are 18 for the marathon and 17 for the half marathon. All finishers receive a unique medal; prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in male and female or open categories for each race. Race numbers are issued on the day, with coach passengers receiving numbers as they board.
Support during the event includes water and snacks on the route, first aid services, and hot drinks and snacks at the finish. Coach transport to the race starts is available from Aylsham Market Place for an additional fee. The event is licensed by the ARC and held under UK Athletics rules, permit ARC/27/0007.
Entry fees (no booking fee): Marathon £46 affiliated, £48 unaffiliated; Half Marathon £36 affiliated, £38 unaffiliated. A £2 reduction applies for verified UK Athletics members. Coach transport costs £12 per person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
