About the race
The Lithgow Ridgy-Didge Trail Run Festival is a trail running event at Hassans Walls Reserve, with the Ridgy-Didge Event Hub based at the Lithgow Pony Club, Sheedy’s Gully. The festival offers multiple race distances and on-site camping near the start/finish area.
Distances available:
- 50 km Ultra Marathon with about 2400–2500 m elevation change
- 42.2 km Marathon with over 2000 m elevation change
- 30 km
- 22 km
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 1.6 km kids race for under 12s, medals for all finishers and trophies for first boy and girl
Courses run on dirt roads, 4WD trails, walking trails and mountain bike single track, and pass many lookouts over the Lithgow, Hartley, Megalong and Kanimbla Valleys. Aid stations are located at CP6 and CP12, and there are additional water stations. Tailwind Nutrition supplies on-course fuel and a recovery area.
Check in and mandatory gear procedures operate from the Event Hub; mandatory items vary by distance but include raincoat, thermal, fluid, whistle, mobile phone, survival blanket and snake bandage for longer races. Drop bag transfer is available to CP12 and CP2. Timing is provided by Tempus Timing. Camping is available at the Pony Club event hub with drive-in and caravan sites.
