Leigh-on-Sea 10k & 5k
This event takes place on 1 November 2026 in Leigh-on-Sea and features evening, multi-terrain running through parts of the town. The programme includes both 10 km and 5 km races, with a separate juniors 5 km for 11 to 15 year olds.
Race categories and entry notes:
- 10 km open and invitational category, for runners aged 16 and over.
- 5 km open adult race.
- 5 km : Juniors 11–15 entrants must be accompanied by an adult who takes responsibility for their safety.
Safety and event services include mandatory headtorches or body torches, multiple marshals, UKA race permit pending, and accurate chip timing with instant result printout and certificate. The event reinstates sustainably sourced finisher medals for every finisher and continues the customary offering of a glass of prosecco. Fancy dress is optional and there is a bonus prize for costume.
The organisers state a focus on safe night-time running, sustainability, and enjoyment. The event supports nationwide and local charities with a focus on Essex based care; specific charity partners will be announced. A route map and GPX file are available for the course.
