Legend of the Peaks : Rotorua trail running and walking festival
Legend of the Peaks is a running and walking festival held in the Whakarewarewa Forest, Rotorua, Aotearoa New Zealand. The festival program includes an expo, music and food alongside a range of trail events for different distances and ages. Event headquarters and race start/finish are at the Waipa MTB Carpark on Waipa State Mill Road.
Races use off-road single track, forest trails and volcanic-valley features, with viewpoints across the Rotorua Caldera and runs among large Redwoods and thermal landscape elements. Several courses visit the forest peaks Kohaturoa (Pohaturoa), Titokorangi, Moerangi and Kakapiko. Terrain varies from short flat loops to long climbs; listed elevation gains include about 1,750 m for the New Zealand Forest Marathon and about 2,240 m for the Whaka Ultra 50K.

The PAK'nSAVE Rotorua Kids Forest Run is offered for Years 0–8 and is listed as a free event with limited entries and school-priority registration. The Koeke Classic provides non-timed 2 km and 3 km options, with the 2 km loop reported as step-free and accessible for wheelchair users.
