Tarawera Ultra-Trail by UTMB
Tarawera Ultra-Trail by UTMB is a trail running event in Rotorua, New Zealand, held on 13 and 14 February 2027. The event is part of the UTMB World Series and offers multiple race options over natural trails in the Tarawera area.
Courses are point-to-point and described as mostly non-technical runnable terrain. Trails pass through native New Zealand forest and redwoods, alongside eight lakes, waterfalls and clear streams. The event materials reference local pōtiki concepts such as taiao (natural landscapes) and kaupapa like manaaki and whānau to describe community values around the race.
On-course support includes aid stations, volunteers and event crew. Races are designed with achievability in mind and the organiser provides course and runner information for each distance. The T14 start location is listed as Te Puia, Rotorua.
