Larmer Tree Marathon and Running Races

The event is based at the Larmer Tree Gardens with routes through the wider Rushmore Estate in the Cranborne Chase National Landscape. The Larmer Tree Gardens serve as the start and finish and include ornate garden buildings and free roaming peacocks. Runners may explore the grounds after the race.

Courses are trail routes across private estate land, featuring open grassland, woodlands, tree lined avenues, elevated ridges and chalk valleys. Routes are comprehensively marked and marshalled, with published maps and GPX files available. Runners are set off in waves of about 100 to space out the field.

There are multiple drinking and food stations on course and at the finish. Water is provided on all races, electrolyte on warmer and longer events, and cola in later stages of the marathon. Feast stations include a mix of food with gluten free, dairy free and vegan options. A medical team is on site and a bag drop, toilets, coffee and food vans are available; there are no changing rooms. Parking is charged at £10 per car. Nearest train stations are Tisbury, Gillingham and Salisbury.

Canicross is offered as a specific 10 km time trial; buggy runners are not advised. Finishers of distances of 5 km and longer receive a two sided 10 cm x 10 cm event medal. Prize categories are based on gender and age bands. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
