Laliik Trail Races
The Laliik Trail Races are scheduled for March 6, 2027 in Benton City, WA at the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve / Rattlesnake Mountain Recreation Preserve Trailhead. The event is organized by Runners of the Sage as a fundraiser for the Winter Mountain Running Series and for the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve.
Distances offered include:
- 10 Mile trail run through the Rattlesnake Slope Preserve with about 1400 ft of climbing.
- 11K loop with uphill then downhill sections, including a steep 700 ft ascent over 0.43 miles and about 1400 ft total climbing.
- 6 Hour multi loop event that uses the 11K loop; each loop is 6.5 miles with about 1400 ft gain.
- 5K out and back on Aster Gully with roughly 450 ft of gain.
Registration opens October 1, 2026. Pre-registration prices through December 31 are $25 for the 5K, $35 for the 11K, $60 for the 10 Mile, and $90 for the 6 Hour. Prices increase on January 1 to $35, $45, $75, and $100 respectively. Pre-registration closes in late February. There is no day of registration for the 6 Hour event; day of registration is available for the other distances at higher prices.
Packet pickup and day of registration are available at a Tri-Cities Food Co-op location in Richland and at the race start. The event is cupless so participants must bring their own bottles. T shirts are included with 10 Mile pre-registration; for 6 Hour, 11K, and 5K a tri blend shirt is available for an additional $30 with pre-registration. 6 Hour finishers earn a finisher sweatshirt. An aid station is located at the loop start to support each lap. All participants receive a finisher glass and awards recognize overall top three male and female finishers. A $100 cash prize is offered for any new course record in the eligible distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
