Jeepers Creepers 1 Miler, 5K and 10K
Jeepers Creepers is a trail running event held on October 10, 2026, at Daniel Stowe Conservancy on South New Hope Road in Belmont, North Carolina. The event includes multiple distances and runs through the conservancy grounds, with courses that use crushed concrete, gravel fields and forest trails, and shaded paths that lead toward Lake Wylie. The 10K is run as two loops and is described as the longest distance held each year at Stowe.
Distances:
- 1 Miler: untimed, no awards.
- 5K: start and finish at the Trailhead Store, winds on shaded trails.
- 10K: two-loop course, start and finish at the Trailhead Store.
Participants who wear Halloween costumes are part of the event atmosphere. Runners and walkers with a race bib receive free admission to The Gardens to view the fall exhibit "Scarecrow Hollow." Photography from OCR Photography will be available for participants.
Post-race amenities at the Trailhead Store include firepits, s'mores, cold beverages, and cornhole. Awards and medals: the 5K gives custom awards to top three overall male and female finishers and top three in five-year age groups from 14 and under through 70 and better; the 10K gives custom awards to top three overall male and female finishers and top three in ten-year age groups from under 10 through 70 and better. Finisher medals for the 5K and 10K are available during registration while supplies last.
Fundraising for Daniel Stowe Conservancy is associated with the event; the listed goal is $1,000. Registration policies state no refunds unless enrolled in the Refund Protection Program, and race management may cancel or modify the event for unfavorable conditions.
