Meanwood Holly Hustle
Meanwood Holly Hustle is a forest trail race based at the Meanwood Institute, 94 Green Rd, Meanwood, Leeds LS6 4LD. The route passes through Meanwood Park and the Hollies, then follows the Meanwood Valley Trail past the Seven Arches viaduct and Adel Crag.
The course distance is 10.5 km (6.5 miles) with approximately 200 m (650 ft) of elevation. Terrain includes grass, rocky ground, muddy trails and footpaths. The route contains narrow paths and technical sections and one small private road section that will be marshalled; participants will be advised to stay on the pavement where possible.
At this time of year the course is likely to be muddy, so appropriate footwear is recommended. Headphones are not recommended because of the narrow and technical parts of the course.
Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, bag storage and a water station. All finishers are offered complimentary soup. Optional extras can be added to entries for medals or t-shirts, and a Trees not Tees donation option is available to fund tree planting. Extras are available only for a limited time before the event and may be limited on the day.
This is a cupless event; participants must bring their own water container. A jacket or warm layer is recommended in case assistance is needed away from the nearest road. Entry is limited to 200 and the minimum age is 18. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
