Hill to Hollow 100km
Hill to Hollow is a trail event in Fabius, NY centered on a roughly 100 km loop through Morgan Hill State Forest and surrounding public lands. The course uses nearly all single track, follows the Onondaga Trail and North Country Trail through Highland Forest County Park, passes DeRuyter Reservoir and Chippewa Falls, and connects with the Finger Lakes Trail in Mariposa State Forest.
The route covers approximately 63.7 miles with about 10,286 feet of elevation change and includes seven staffed aid stations (excluding start and finish). The course begins and ends near Spruce Pond and crosses four counties. Runners should be prepared for limited or no cellular coverage and must navigate with an offline-capable device and the provided GPS file.
Required gear includes a charged cell phone, offline navigation device with the course file loaded, headlamp with spare batteries, reflective vest, emergency blanket, waterproof shell with hood, a water filtration device, at least 800 mL of carrying capacity for liquids, and a reserve of at least 400 kcal of food.
Pacers are allowed for solo 100 km runners after about mile 33, with only one pacer per runner at a time; pacer and relay changes are permitted only at aid stations. Crew access varies by aid station and some roads may not suit low clearance vehicles.
