About the race
The Spooktastic Halloween 5k is a night-time, multi-terrain 5k at Lawsons Showground in Herons Reach, Blackpool. The event uses trails, grass and mixed surfaces and includes mud, puddles, water, uneven ground and slippery sections. There are also very dark stretches where a working headtorch is compulsory. Event HQ, registration and the start and finish area are based within the showground.
Bib collection opens at 5.00pm at Event HQ and race numbers are arranged in surname order. Portable toilets, a baggage storage area and a key drop facility will be available at Event HQ; all belongings are left at the owner’s risk. A staffed water station will be provided around halfway and water will also be available at the finish. Professional medical support will be on site for the duration of the event.
The event is chip timed and runners must wear their race number visibly on the front of their clothing so results can be recorded correctly. Official photos will be taken on course and at the finish and are usually available 24 to 48 hours after the event. There is no competitor parking inside the showground; parking is available on surrounding streets subject to local restrictions. The route and course conditions may make the event unsuitable for some mobility needs; the organisers can provide advice on accessibility. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
