About the race
The Spooktastic Halloween 5k is an evening multi-terrain run held at Lawsons Showground in Herons Reach, Blackpool on Saturday 31 October 2026. The event distance is 5k on a course that uses trails, grass, mud, puddles, water and uneven ground with some very dark sections where a head torch is required.
Event HQ, registration and the start/finish area are all located within the showground. Bib collection opens at 5.00pm and race numbers are arranged in surname order. Portable toilets, a staffed water station around halfway and water at the finish will be provided. A baggage storage area and a key drop facility will be available at Event HQ; all items are left at the owner’s risk. Professional medical support will be present for the duration of the event.
The race is chip timed and timing chips are attached to the race number, so the bib must be worn visibly for results to be recorded. Official photos will be taken on course and at the finish and are normally published online within 24–48 hours. Entry for adults is £16.50.
Head torches are compulsory; a phone torch or handheld light is not an acceptable substitute. Headphones are permitted but must be used safely and at a low volume so runners can hear marshal instructions. There is no competitor parking inside the showground; nearby street parking is subject to local restrictions. The route may not be suitable for all mobility needs.
