Gosfield Backyard Ultra
Gosfield Backyard Ultra is a last person standing loop race held in the grounds of Gosfield School in Essex, at Cut Hedge Park, Halstead. Runners must begin a new lap on the hour, every hour, and complete a loop of 4.167 mile (6706 metres) on the hour until only one runner remains. The organiser will sound the "Horn of Happiness" exactly on the hour; any runner who is not in the starting area when the horn sounds is disqualified.
The event includes a camping area next to race headquarters and a fully marked route. The site is available for setup from 6pm on the Friday before the race. Every finisher receives a memento. The winner receives a unique prize plus £150.
There is a small aid station offering a range of liquids, hot and cold drinks, and a limited selection of fruit, sweets and snacks. The organisers provide extra tables where runners can leave items if they do not have a support crew; participants may also bring items for others or leave items after they finish.
