Glen Ogle 33 Ultra Marathon

The Glen Ogle 33 Ultra Marathon is a roughly 33 mile foot race on 7th November 2026 between Killin and Strathyre in Perthshire. The course follows parts of National Cycle Route No 7 and the Rob Roy Way, passing through Killin, the Falls of Dochert, the Glen Ogle Viaduct, Balquidder and the Shoogly Bridge. Total ascent is approximately 3,000 ft.

The route is marked with yellow and black directional arrows, eco friendly marker paint and existing blue cycle route No 7 signs. Checkpoints and water stations are located at the start in Killin, and at about 4 miles, 8 miles, 16 miles (halfway with drop bag access at Strathyre Picnic Area), 25 miles, 29 miles, and the finish at roughly 33 miles. Runners must pass the last checkpoint at the top of Glen Ogle by 4pm or risk removal from the race.

There are three road crossings on the course, controlled by race marshals who must be followed. Marshals cannot stop traffic, so earphones must be removed when approaching crossings and on the sections between Kingshouse and Balquidder and between Balquidder and Strathyre.

Runners are required to carry mandatory kit. Items listed include a full size foil blanket, a working mobile phone with the race control number, trail food, means to carry water, and a small first aid kit. Recommended items include waterproofs and extra layers. Registration takes place at McLaren Hall, Main Street, Killin. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
