Girl Scout Island Ultra
The Girl Scout Island Ultra is a trail running event at Rose Dhu Island Camp in Savannah, Georgia, held over the weekend of November 20–22, 2026 with race days on November 21 and 22. Distances offered include:
- 10K
- 50K
- 50K relay (max 5 people)
- 100K
- 100 miles
The course is a measured 6.25 mile loop that is non-technical and relatively flat with occasional roots. Race distances are completed by repeating the loop: 10K is one lap, 50K is five laps, 100K is ten laps, and 100 miles is sixteen laps. Chip timing is used and live chip timed results are displayed on course.
On-site camping options managed by the Girl Scouts are available for a fee and include cabins, perches, and elevated tent platforms with shower and bathroom access. Primitive and vehicle camping are available at no cost for ultra distance participants; RVs are not allowed. Participants must notify the Race Director at least one week before the event to stay Friday night. A curfew restricts entry to the island after midnight; reentry opens at 6am. Vehicles must use designated parking areas and the single-lane bridge to the island requires care and obeying local speed rules.
Pacers must register, sign a waiver, wear an official pacer bib, and check in at the aid station. Pacers are permitted after 50 miles, with an earlier allowance at mile 30 for participants over 70 or those who are pregnant. Finisher medals are awarded for all distances, the 100 mile receives a buckle, and top finishers receive awards. Proceeds support the Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia and Rose Dhu Island.
