Palmetto Bluff Buffalo Run
The Palmetto Bluff Buffalo Run is an annual trail event on the Palmetto Bluff property in Bluffton, South Carolina, held to benefit the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy. The event uses an all-trail course that runs through roughly 20,000 acres of largely undisturbed Lowcountry landscape.
Course features include tree-shaded single track, dirt and gravel road trail surfaces, and a 6.2-mile trail that winds into the maritime forests. Mud on the route is noted as part of the trail experience.
Distances and formats:
- 10K individual and walk
- 30K individual and 3-person relay
- 50K individual and 5-person relay
Packet pickup is handled through Palmetto Running Company at 25 Minetta Lane, Bluffton, SC 29910. Hydration and fuel stations are located midway on course and at the finish. The race is cup-free; water stations will be provided but participants are expected to use personal hydration bottles. Relay teams and 50K runners may set up pop-up canopy tents and tables for support teams in designated staging areas.
Awards and post-race provisions include Buffalo Run long sleeve shirts guaranteed to participants registered before December 1, finisher medals for 10K, 30K and 50K and relay participants, Buffalo Head Awards for 50K individual finishers, Bronze Buffalo Awards for overall winners and first place relay teams, and recognition for the top Dog finisher.
