About the race
The Palmetto Bluff Buffalo Run is a trail race in Palmetto Bluff near Bluffton, South Carolina, set amid roughly 20,000 acres of Lowcountry and ancient maritime forest. The course is all trail with tree-shaded single track plus dirt and gravel road sections; the event references a 6.2-mile trail that winds into the forests.
Event options include:
- 10K individual
- 30K individual
- 50K individual
- 30K relay for 3-person teams
- 50K relay for 5-person teams
Packet pickup is available at Palmetto Running Company, 25 Minetta Lane, Bluffton, SC. Hydration and fuel stations are located midway on the course and at the finish. The race is cup free; water stations will be on course but participants are asked to bring their own hydration bottles.
A designated staging area allows relay teams and 50K runners to set up pop-up canopy tents and tables for support crews. Awards include Buffalo Run long sleeve shirts for participants registered before December 1, finishers medals for 10K, 30K, 50K and relay participants, Buffalo Head Awards for 50K individual finishers, and Bronze Buffalo Awards for overall first place male and female in each race plus first place relay teams and the top Dog finisher.
The event includes an after party with an awards presentation, live music from Corn Bread, and food and beer provided to runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
