About the race
The Pickle Run is the 18th annual community 5K held on Tybee Island to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire. The event combines beach and road surfaces and begins and ends at HUC-A-POO’S, located at 1213 East Highway 80, Tybee Island, GA 31328. Organizers created the run after a neonatal hospital experience to support families who must travel for pediatric care. Proceeds from the event benefit the Savannah Ronald McDonald House, which provides a “home away from home” with 13 bedrooms, private baths, communal living areas, and volunteer-provided meals. Registration is limited to 200 online entries and there are no race day registrations.
Fee tiers listed by the organizer are: $35 through 11/01, $40 through 11/14, and $45 starting 11/15. The event package includes an event t-shirt (not guaranteed after 11/14), one raffle ticket, and HUC-A-POO’S breakfast pizza. Packet pick-up and specific start procedures are provided by the organizer separately. A post-event celebration at HUC-A-POO’S will include prizes, a raffle, and pizza.
The event is presented as a fundraiser and community gathering supporting families who use local neonatal and pediatric services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
